Callicarpa dichotoma 'Early Amethyst' is a standout deciduous shrub, celebrated for its spectacular display of glossy, metallic-purple berries. Emerging in late summer and persisting through fall and into winter, these berries create a dazzling show, especially when the foliage turns an attractive purplish-green. Care & maintenance

Easily grown in average, medium moisture, well-drained soils. Prefers full sun but tolerates light shade; however, full sun promotes the best berry production. Prune in late winter or early spring just before new growth appears. Can be cut back severely (to 6-12 inches from the ground) every 2-3 years to encourage vigorous new growth and abundant fruit production, as berries form on new wood.
